Anytime is a perfect time to find some great outdoor products from the dollar store. One thing I see frequently are solar lights.
They are the perfect item to illuminate your garden path but they also can be transformed into other nifty outdoor nightlights.
Barb Garrett at EverydayHomeBlog.com helps walk us through making a energy saving table lamp that is sure to impress. With only a few household items, you too can make your deck or porch shine.
The whole project used very few components:
- Solar light from Lowe’s
- Terra cotta pot
- PVC pipe
- Potting soil
One part of of this project I think improved the look was the painting of the pot. The terra cotta pot alone would not create the same impact as the one painted.
Another “option” to consider would allow the light to be removed and placed out in the sun for charging and then simply “slipped” back into the PVC holder. Just an idea! We found the full tutorial via everydayhomeblog.com
